✩43 Presents For My Face✩

Jan 12, 2021

Today I wanted to share with you the goodies I got for my birthday. This year I definitely want to pamper myself and take care when I can. Of course that usually means skincare but I am a total novice! I know enough to keep my face clean and remove makeup but that's about it XD

I told this to a friend at work and she was so sweet enough to get me some items from a local skincare shop. I was so moved that she listened to me and took it upon herself to get me started. Of course, I had no idea where to start and soon found out that I still needed a cleanser. And since I didn't end up getting that Loungefly bag, I figured I could treat myself to some Ulta items to go along with it.

So firstly, I'm going to show you what I bought from Ulta!

Mascara by Essence

I've heard good things about this brand! I didn't even know that Ulta carried them. So guess it's finally time to try them out!

White, Black and Yellow Eyeshadow Singles by NYX

I love NYX. I was so excited to find these because these are the colors I use most. They look promising so I am hoping they are true colors.

White Eye Shadow Primer by NYX

Because I have the L.A. Colors colorful palette, I needed a primer that would help the colors really stand out. I experimented with a chunky white pencil and the colors showed up a lot more! But using that method was also not the best....so here's hoping!

Body Wash by Pacifica

I finally started using this brand and fell in love. Everything smells so good!

Loofah by ECOTOOLS

Just time to replace my old one~

Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser by KS

Here is the whole point of the order! I heard goat milk is supposed to be really good and that this is a good brand to use. I only started using it just last night so I will give a quick review after a week or two.

Now on to the stuff from my friend~!

Nature Republic

I've seen the shop before but I never actually got anything from them. I'm completely new to Korean skincare and still unsure of what's cruelty-free (CF) or not. But after a ton of research and asking the company directly, I can officially say it is one of those brands that is CF!

Aloe and Argan sheets. I've used the Plumeria one by Beauty Treats so it will be really interesting to try these. I know Aloe especially is supposed to be really amazing for nearly everything skin-related.

Makeup Remover Wipes

I have used several different kinds but they're mostly drugstore brands. This will be the first time that I will be using a different kind. When I finish my current pack, I will let you all know how it goes!

Bulgarian Rose Set

This is such a gorgeous set! And it smells amazing! It comes with a face mask, toner, emulsion and essence. Thank god for friends because I would have been so lost on how to use these.

Hydrogel by Honest Beauty

There was also another skincare item and I had no idea it was Jessica Alba's brand. It's also CF! It's actually an amazing product so far and my skin feels so nice~

And because she knows me so well, she also threw in a couple of cute hair accessories! The star one actually lights up too~

I am really happy that my friend really was attentive like that. I am so appreciative and grateful! So if you're reading this, thank you for being an awesome friend! Love youuuuu~

If anyone is interested in a future review of these, please let me know in the comments!

✩42 My Birthday! (Small Recap)✩

Jan 9, 2021

My birthday was on Tuesday (1/5). A few days before, I was having a rough time about it and seriously didn't think anyone would remember or even know. I was also feeling down about a few other things so I was already planning to be miserable on the day of.

Somehow, the night before it changed a little. I got an email for a free drink from Dunkin' Donuts. I never get to use these up and they usually end up going to waste. But this time I would be working on my birthday so I finally got my chance to!

I also decided that if I had to work that I might as well look hella cute.

Hoodie, top, belt, pants: Blue Moon Blue
Sneakers: Sketchers
Scrunchie: SBY

I was really happy with how my make came out. I've been following a little tutorial from EGG by none other than the Amekaji queen Kanako-chan~

I used Twinkle Lash for top and bottom lashes ♥

I got my free coffee and also purchased a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It felt so great to just be paying 3USD$ for a whole breakfast! I made my way over to work and that's when all the birthday wishes started pouring in. Many of them online and a bunch at work. I even got a bunch of texts from friends and family!

Throughout my whole shift, I noticed that a few of my coworkers were acting kind of funny...
And it wasn't until a bit later that I realized they had snuck in a cake! They hit me with a Happy Birthday surprise in the breakroom. I almost broke down crying. I really wasn't expecting any of it and it was so awesome to feel so appreciative and grateful to have such amazing friends.

After hanging around for a while after my shift, I finally decided to go home. I was going to buy a Loungefly bag that I had seen in one of the nearby stores but I wasn't so much in love with it as I thought to justify the price. So I left. Which is fine. It wasn't necessary. I'll look around online and wait for sales~

My mom came home with a cake and family sang happy birthday. We even ordered a pizza for dinner. Most of the time was being on the phone getting birthday wishes and hanging out on Discord where I received amazing fanart and played video games all night!

I also got some other goodies that I would like to also show on my blog another time if anyone is interested~

It was so much fun. It was the best birthday I had in a long time. And it wasn't anything crazy. It was just a special time with the people I care about!

✩41 My Eyeshadow Collection✩

Jan 4, 2021

Today I wanted to share my collection of eyeshadow palettes that I use in my gal looks. I don't think we talk enough about this but I think more companies should go cruelty-free. A lot of gals and makeup gurus share tons of brands and a lot of them test on animals.

I don't know about anyone else but I love animals way too much. Especially my rabbits. After I became an owner, it changed my outlook on the products I use. I'm not trying to preach or change your mind on anything. In the end, it's your call on what you like using. But the only products you will ever see on any of my platforms will be at least cruelty-free.  It would be a bonus if it's vegan as well! I do all my research before investing in a brand so I will also share that information with you as well if you're curious~

When it comes to makeup, I love colors.
It only wasn't until I started getting more into Amekaji that I started using neutrals a bit more. Most of my palettes are super bright and colorful. So I definitely do both! I don't really go out of my way to buy big brands unless it happens to catch my eye online or if I'm at Ulta. Most of the time you'll find me shopping at pharmacies and checking out what's new.

Here are the palettes I currently own:

Neutral mini palettes by e.l.f. and L.A. Colors

They're cheap and actually decent quality. With the right eye primer, they are long-lasting and don't require a ton of layers. As I said, I'm all about colors so I don't need a huge brand set. But they're always good to have.

16 color eyeshadow palette by L.A. Colors

Most jfashion fanatics know about this one. I had been hunting for this one for a while and it was always sold out. But finally I got it. It's a gorgeous palette. Very shiny and colorful. But I do recommend a white shadow primer. The colors will stand out more.

My Little Pony palette by Colourpop

I used to love this brand. They've always been great quality and very affordable. I haven't bought from them recently so I can't vouch for their recent products. This is the first and only licensed palette I got from them. It's super pigmented and goes on beautifully. My favorite part is that the design and the names of each color are all from the original My Little Pony characters.

32 color palette by NICKAK

This was a random palette I found at a beauty supply store near my job. It was one of my first palettes when I started experimenting with my gal eyemake. As you can see, it's been used a lot. I think I paid about 10USD$ but a good amount of the shadows are pretty strong and vibrant regardless. It's not perfect and some colors aren't as bright as the others but it's definitely good for a beginner.

Take Me Back to Brazil by BH Cosmetics

This is my other absolute favorite. It is SUPER pigmented and goes on and blends wonderfully. It has a huge range of colors with a good amount of matte vs glitter. They do have an all glitter sister palette Rio which I eventually plan to get as well. Literally, my only issue is that the pans are small. I have used several of BH Cosmetics and they are definitely one of my top brands!

Hope you all enjoyed this. I think it's important to also include brands that aren't just advertised by beauty bloggers and youtubers. Especially if they're cruelty-free and/or vegan. Please let me know if you will also try one of these!~
